Knowledge representation and reasoning: propositional logic and the predicate calculus. Search methods applied to classical rule-based and expert systems. Structure and function of naturally intelligent systems. Methods for endowing computers with the ability to organize uncertain knowledge and solve complex high-level cognitive problems. Biologically inspired paradigms (neural networks, adaptive learning, genetic algorithms). Statistical and stochastic methods (classification and Clustering). Communication and architectures for multi-agent systems. May be Taken for Graduate credit. Prerequisites: CSci 151 or CSci 212, Apsc 115 (or equivalent). (Spring)
