Review of mathematical theory for cryptography. Classical Ciphers. Modern Block and Stream Ciphers. Symmetric and asymmetric systems. Public key infrastructure. Key Management issues. Elliptical curve implementations. Prerequisite: CSCI 212. CS 284 and CS 162 cover equivalent material. CS 284 cannot be taken for credit if CS 162 has been taken for credit(Spring)
