14. Use this space for any comments you may have about the course, the instructor, readings, etc.
  • I like the idea of bringing industry experts to the class.
  • This course has literally been the single worst course I have taken at GWU. I paid my $3000 to be instructed on E-Commerce Security on "Advanced technical topics in e-commerce security. X.500 registration systems, X.509/PKIX certification systems, secure payment methods, smart cards, authorization models in open distributed environments. Secure web systems, technologies, and applications." Instead, I sat through about four outdated twenty-minute presentations given by the professor himself, and the remainder of the class consisted of student-presentations about material they already knew, or guest lecturer presentations that were high-level views of e-commerce security. I had expected to learn technical details about Man-In-The-Middle attacks, browser-specific attacks, session hijacking, and other threats so I could counter them. Class sessions rarely ran for the two and a half hours listed, often times we'd finish the material for that night (a guest speaker for half the time, followed by a stude
  • very little material actually covered. guest speakers ok, but never felt the course was consistent b/c most classes were taught by guest speaker or student. expected content to be more technical since 300 level course and part of CSIA.
