- This course provided great academic challenge, but was also fun and exciting to take. I do feel that I learned fundamental skills in using data structures in computer programming.
- Prof Price Jones is one of my favorite professors at GW. He has a passion for computer science that is evident to all his students. The course requires a lot of time and effort, but without it I don't feel that I would have learned as much. Overall, he is a wonderful professor.
- I had taken AP Java in a public highschool and in CS53 and CS133 combined we did not catch up to the material I had covered. The course was too narrowly focused and the syllabus needs to be expanded. Professor Jones is a nice teacher but he tried too hard to make all the students understand everything as we went, making the course slower. 133 would be better taught with everyone in front of a computer to program as we go because it is an introduction to programming course. The labs were too guided to enforce creative programming as we were basically filling in method bodes. We should also have at least one larger group lab because it was all independent work.
