14. Use this space for any comments you may have about the course, the instructor, readings, etc.
- It is evident that Professor Brenner is a very intelligent individual that is knowledgeable about his field; however his enthusiasm for the subject did not translate into his teaching ability. As someone new to programming, I expected clear instructions regarding HTML as well as an abundance of examples that would help me visualize how code, written in a specific manner, becomes the basis for a Web page and its features. We were often asked to complete assignments using code he had written, without understanding how it functioned.
Professor Brenner also has a tendency to yell when he becomes frustrated with individuals that dont understand what he is trying to convey. As an introduction to web software development course, I would expect the professor to be patient as well as willing to review topics in order to ensure that everyone has the same understanding. He does not demonstrate the patience or understanding necessary to instruct any course, nonetheless an introductory course in programming.
For
- This instructor exemplifies the very worst of teaching.
Mr. Brenner is without a doubt extremely knowledeable
in his field. However, he has no place in a classroom. I have never felt so personally attacked by a teacher when I fail to understand or fully grasp concepts. I felt extremely embarrassed when a fellow classmate cried one night after being lambasted by Mr.Brenner.
Mr. Brenner had the privilege of working one-on-one with a mere 5 students, yet he failed to provide us with the knowledge needed to complete his assignments.
He was unable to succinctly explain many topics and was easily frustrated when we did not understand them.
Being yelled at, having things dumbed down,...GW should be ashamed that they are allowing this immature behavior from faculty members.
Mr.Brenner failed to produce a syallabus for the class. The information he did provide at the beginning of the course regarding assignements and topics to be covered was very loosely followed at best.
