Academics
Course work for the bachelor's degree differs from the standard B.A. in Computer Science in that in addition to the normally required Computer Science electives, the student must take two graduate level Computer Science courses. These could be 200 level graduate courses or 100 level courses that can be taken for graduate credit. Students should understand that taking these two additional Computer Science courses could lead to fewer elective slots being available in their curriculum to use towards their second major or minor(s).
Application to the graduate portion of the program is ordinarily made after the completion of the fifth semester of the required curriculum. In addition, it requires the completion of at least 9 credit hours of upper division Computer Science courses that are required for the BS degree before application to the program. Students interested in applying for this program must plan their curriculum schedule carefully so that they meet the application criteria before the deadline. It is highly recommended that they work with their undergraduate advisor in developing a curriculum schedule.
