GWU and SEAS Quick Links

    • Student Status:
      • Full time:         >12 credit hours per semester
      • Half time:        6-12 credit hours per semester
      • Part time:        <6 credit hours per semester
      • Sophomore:  completion of 30 credit hours
      • Junior:             completion of 60 credit hours
      • Senior:            completion of 90 credit hours
    • Add/Drop policies:

·        Electronic Add/Drop (GWeb): during the registration period / before the end of the 2nd week of classes

·        RTF Add/Drop:  after the 2nd week of classes

 

·        Transcript: 

o       A course dropped during the first 4 weeks of classes will not appear on the student's transcript.

o       A course dropped after the 4th week but before the end of the 8th week will be assigned a notation of "W" (Authorized Withdrawal).

o       After the end of the 8th week of classes, dropping a course without academic penalty is only possible after the student presents a petition to the dean and receives written permission (RTF).

o       Failure to withdraw by these procedures can result in an extended financial obligation & the recording of a grade of "F" (Failure) or a notation of "Z" (Unauthorized Withdrawal).
