Process management, process state, concurrent processing, synchronization, events. Operating system structure, the kernel approach, processor scheduling, task switching, monitors. System management, memory management, process loading, communication with peripherals. File systems. Interactive computation. Prerequisite: CSci 103 or CSci 143. (Fall)
